Zambia Lobito Railway Selects Preferred Contractor for 517-Kilometre Section

On 27 October, Africa Finance Corporation announced that a consortium led by Webuild, Mota-Engil and IC İçtaş Construction had been selected as preferred EPC bidder for the Zambian section of the Lobito Railway. The section covers approximately 517 kilometres from the Angolan border to Chingola. The contract value has not been disclosed, and negotiations are expected to begin in November. The project creates potential opportunities for railway engineering firms, bridge contractors, equipment manufacturers and logistics providers.
