On 27 October, the government reported that the Food Reserve Agency had purchased approximately 2.7 million tonnes of maize worth K18.738 billion during the 2025/26 marketing season. Around K4.1 billion had been paid, leaving approximately K14.6 billion outstanding to farmers at the end of October.
The agency reported sales contracts covering 1.7 million tonnes, including 1.5 million tonnes for export. This creates demand for agricultural finance, commodity trading, payment services and risk-management expertise. HPC can help businesses identify relevant commercial and financial partnerships.
